Flower Mound Clay Target Team (FMCTT)

The Flower Mound Clay Target Team (FMCTT) was established in 2014.

The Team is organized and operated as a Non-Sponsored, Non-Curriculum Related Student Group (defined in L.I.S.D. Board Policy FNAB) under the permission of the Flower Mound High School Principal’s Office to promote and protect the traditions of target sports by training parents, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and our students to respect, conserve and love outdoor sports while facilitating family bonds in a safe and educational environment.

The Team participates in four different disciplines, Skeet, Trap, 5 Stand and Sporting Clays.  Our official season is November through May with the choice to extend into State and National competitions through June.

  • LISD-sanctioned ‘club’
  • Open to FMHS students and their feeder middle school counterparts regardless of experience
  • Allows participation starting in 7th grade
  • Allows for an athletic letter (and letterman jacket) starting at 9th grade
  • Provides scholarships annually for the top 3 graduating seniors (based on GPA, leadership, and length of participation)
  • Has shotguns that Team members may use at Team practices and tournaments
  • Is not a ‘drop-off’ sport
  • Participants are expected to provide their own ammunition, eye protection, and ear protection

We primarily participate in events held by USAYESS (Youth Education Shooting Sports) and may add SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program), NSSA, and NSCA (National Skeet Shooting Association and National Sporting Clay Association) public tournaments to supplement.

FMCTT is led by an elected Parent and Student Executive Board along with our Head Coach, Student Team Captains, and a Middle School Representative.
